Flat abs from cardio fitness kickboxing the KO XO way!

LOSING LOWER ABDOMINAL FAT AND CARDIO FITNESS KICKBOXING THE KO XO KICKBOXING AND FREESTYLE MARTIAL ARTS ACADEMY WAY!!!!

A major cause of body fat accumulating around the stomach area or a muffin top, as some people call it, is the consumption of refined processed carbohydrates. You can reduce the fat around the lower abdomin by limiting how much refined processed carbohydrates you eat. So get rid of the candy, cookies and white bread and white pasta and you will see results.

Replace these foods with nutritious fat burning foods such as whole grains, fruits and lean meats like chicken, turkey and fish. Also make sure to drink plenty of water daily . The water helps your body process these nutritious foods.

A regular cardiovascular exercise routine (such as KO XO Kickboxing and/or Freestyle Martial Arts at our academy in Oceanside, NY - call 516-668-5606 or visit www.freestyledefense.com for more info.) is also needed to lose current body fat and to avoid further body fat from forming around the stomach in the future. You cannot target lower stomach fat without dietary changes and cardiovascular exercise. Lower stomach fat is different from the rest of your abdominals. Sit-ups and ab workouts are not enough.

Mixed Martial Arts Training and Cardio Fitness Kickboxing are a great way to melt away the fat around the lower abdomen. When doing these exercises Make sure your posture is correct to strengthen your core and help trim down your lower abs.

You also must be consistent with your workout regiment to trim your lower abdominals. You will not be able to burn off stomach fat if you do not do cardio exercise, restrict refined processed carbohydrates, and keep it up on a regular basis. If you do this you will see results within several weeks. In addition to cardio fitness kickboxing, weight training can help. Muscle burns calories. Start eating smaller meals more often and drink more water. You should eat 4 to 6 very small meals per day. Do cardio fitness kickboxing 4-5 times a week with in conjunction with weight training 2-3 times a week to burn your lower abdominal fat away. In addition, watch your calorie and refined processed carbohydrate intake.

It is also important to drink enough water to get rid of the toxins in your body, to be hydrated, and to enable fat burning foods to work properly. An average person should drink 8-10 8 oz. glasses of water per day. If you are an athlete or if you live in a dry area, you might need to drink more.

Our bodies were not designed to eat refined carbohydrates. Refined carbohydrates are a major cause of body fat accumulating around the stomach. Our ancestors did not have refined carbohydrates in their diet and, as a result, they were fitter and leaner. Replace those foods with more fat burning foods and take full advantage of the thermic effect of fat burning foods. In addition to these dietary changes, add cardio fitness kickboxing and weight training. The Effectiveness of the Muay Thai Clinch in self defense by Freestyle Martial Arts Academy Long Beach NY

Muay Thai clinch

In Muay Thai boxing, unlike in Western Boxing the clinch is allowed and is a vital part of the fight. In the clinch knees and elbows are often used. The clinch is used to strike and bind the opponent for both offensive and defensive purposes. The proper way to implement the clinch is by placing the palm of one hand on top of the back of the other. There are three reasons why the fingers do not get intertwined; 1) In the ring fighters are wearing boxing gloves and cannot intertwine their fingers; 2) The Thai front clinch involves pressing the head of the opponent downwards, which is easier if the hands are locked behind the back of the head instead of behind the neck; & 3) A fighter may incur an injury to one or more fingers if they are intertwined, and it becomes more difficult to release the grip in order to quickly elbow the opponent's head.
A correct clinch also involves the fighter's forearms pressing against the opponent's collar bone while the hands are around the opponent's head rather than the opponent's neck.
For practical self defense the use of the clinch is a very viable option for protecting yourself and using your attach as a shield against other assailants by controlling his or her body with a clinch hold.

Lesnar v. Overeem

Brock Lesnar and Alistair Overeem locked horns at UFC 141 on Friday night. It was a night that Lesnar and fans across the world will never forget. Not only was Lesnar defeated by TKO in the first round, but he also declared his retirement from the sport of mixed martial arts.

With Lesnar out of the business, it’s Overeem’s turn to take the torch from Lesnar as the toughest heavyweight in the UFC.

The only difference between Overeem and Lesnar’s ability inside of the octagon will be victories. Lesnar’s 5-3 career MMA record proved that he was just another guy that thought he could get it done inside of the cage.

Boy was he wrong.

Lesnar, however, was a bad dude to get inside the octagon with. He is scary. He’s a freak of nature. He had his moments, but in the end, he wasn’t cut out for MMA.

But there’s a new bad boy in town and that’s Overeem. If you thought Lesnar was an absolute beast of a human being, this guy knocked him into retirement.

Who can say that?

Alistair’s powerful blows and strikes with his knees prove that he was everything we hoped to see in his UFC debut. The way he used the clinch was exceptional.

Lesnar is 6’3”, 265 pounds and is 34 years old. Overeem is 6’5”, 256 pounds and is 31 years old. He is also 36-11-1 in MMA fights compared to Lesnar’s 5-3.

Overeem was made to be a fighter in MMA and Lesnar was just make belief. Not only did Overeem defeat him via TKO, but he backed up his words when he said, “I’m going to rip Brock Lesnar apart, piece-by-piece.”

That’s exactly what he did.

While Lesnar will probably go back to the WWE, Overeem will get his glorious opportunity to win the UFC Heavyweight Title when he faces Junior Dos Santos.

One man’s loss is another man’s gain. Overeem is the new freak of nature in the UFC.

Cardio Fitness Kickboxing

Imagine a sport that not only gets your heart racing, your muscles working, your sweat pouring and also gives you an ecstatic feeling of accomplishment at the end of your workout session! This is what cardio fitness kickboxing at KO XO Kickboxing is like!!!!! (Visit us at www.freestyledefense.com or www.koxokickboxing.com or call 516-668-5606).

Benefits of Cardio Fitness Kickboxing

Cardiovascular – the cardio component comes in because of the fast paced movements using your arms, legs and your core to stabilize you. All your muscles from your head to toe are activated when you’re punching and kicking…as a result you benefit the most from spending time doing cardio kickboxing.

Fat burning – since all your muscles are being activated with high intensity your body is going to utilize fat for energy almost instantaneously. Getting a 6-pack is very attainable.

Increased coordination – your hand-eye coordination will improve dramatically within only a couple of weeks of cardio Fitness kickboxing. Focusing on hitting your wave bag with your fist and foot will do wonders with your agility.

Strength development – your strength will sky-rocket to new levels and you’ll notice that any fat you have around your arms or legs will quickly transform into defined muscle. Women will get rid of wobbly fat under their arms and cellulite in their legs while guys will notice a pump in their biceps and their quadriceps grow with serious definition.

Stress reduction – had a bad day? What better way to get out all your frustrations and stresses with punching and kicking a bag.

Self-defense – kickboxing will dramatically improve your confidence in protecting yourself if there was ever the need.

Benefits of studying martial arts, karate and kickboxing

Why Train in Martial Arts

Many have thought about trying out martial arts, like Kickboxing, Karate, Tae Kwon Do and Kung Fu. Some have actually taken a class or two.

Here are some reasons why enrolling in classes is a fantastic idea:

Self Confidence: As you begin studying martial arts, you will improve your physique, stability, awareness, flexibility, and many different bodily movements and mental sharpness. Martial Arts will teach you how to incorporate these capabilities to succeed in competitions, attain higher belt rank, develop interpersonal skills and become proficient in self defense. The harder you train the more you will attain and the more you will develop your self confidence. Success is psychological, and Martial Arts will train you in the self discipline necessary to succeed at anything you wish to attain.

Coordination: Martial arts requires a lot of hand, foot, eye, and mental coordination, but all of this is developed over time through repitition and practice. Uncoordinated individuals that train in martial arts will develop those skills. You will be amazed at what your body can be trained to accomplish. Even natural athletes not reIned in the martial Arts have great difficulty standing on one foot and throwing a kick with the other I the opposite direction. Even learning how to alternate blocks with both hands is initially probmatic until it has been practiced repeatedly and one's coordination is developed.

Health: Martial Arts is not just about self defense , it is also Bout physical fitness. Training in the martial Arts develops numerous muscle groups, it creates better flexibility and steadiness, as well.

Family interaction: Martialarts is a great way to spend time with the family. At Freestyle Martial Arts Academy School of Karate and Kickboxing at Oceanside NY we incourage parents and children to take classes. In fact we sometimes have family based classes and a lot of family oriented parties and events.

A great way to socialize: Martial Arts is for everyone… Many martial art schools structure their courses into three age groups: Youngsters – usually starting from about 4 to 11 years oldt, Teens – 12 to about sixteen or 17, and Adults – normally starts at 18, but some schools make exceptions when necessary. Often people who train in martial arts together develop a bond and a long lasting friendship. They often incourage each other to obtain higher belt ranks and to train harder.
